This is what a cooking event at ICO can look like

From chopping together (with only one hand!) to focused plating and enjoying together at a set table — a cooking event at ICO is not a show cooking, but a genuine team experience with everything that comes with it: laughter, improvisation, small mishaps, big aha moments.

What you have always wanted to know about Creative Team Cooking in the Allgäu

What does Creative Team Cooking include?

A team cooking event is much more than preparing food together. It is a hands-on exercise in communication, coordination and improvisation. The one-hand rule forces the team to make clear agreements, assign roles and actively support one another — and, along the way, you create a shared meal that tastes great.

What Are the Format Options?

We offer team cooking as a half-day or full-day event — as a standalone format or as the conclusion to an active day. If desired, the themed menu can be tailored individually: regional Allgäu cuisine, Mediterranean summer menus, Asian wok cuisine — with meat, fish, vegetarian or vegan, depending on the group and occasion. Top chefs and ICO trainers accompany the entire process.

The rule is more than a fun mechanic — it is a methodological anchor for reflection. Suddenly, you need a second person for every move: Who holds the pan? Who chops? Who seasons? Routine becomes conscious coordination, “I’ll just do it quickly” becomes real teamwork. What happens at the kitchen counter can later be transferred 1:1 to project situations in the office.

  • Creativity as a team — develop a shared menu concept
  • Experience a professional kitchen live — tips from top chefs first-hand
  • Classic team exercises at the stove — communication, role clarity, patience
  • Enjoyment at the end — home-cooked delights in a relaxed setting

Where does the team cooking take place?

The cooking event can be booked worldwide. In the standard version, it takes place in a professional kitchen in the Allgäu — with the equipment real cooking requires: sufficient work surfaces, professional stoves, a well-stocked pantry. If desired, we can also deliver the event as an in-house format at your location — from a Munich corporate kitchen to a Berlin event venue.

What makes the Allgäu setting special?

If you choose the Allgäu format, you can expect fresh regional ingredients — cheese from mountain farmers, herbs from the surrounding area, game from regional hunting. If you wish, you can combine the cooking event with a visit to a cheesemaker or a short mountain hike in the morning — the ingredients are then processed by you straight afterwards.

Introduction to the professional kitchen, joint menu planning, then preparation in sub-teams (starter, main course, dessert). Each group works independently, but in exchange with the others. At the end, plating together and enjoying at a set table — like a real restaurant experience, except everyone is both guest and chef at the same time.

  • Fully equipped professional kitchen with everything you need
  • Regional organic ingredients from the Allgäu
  • Enjoyment at a set table in an atmospheric setting
  • Extendable to an overnight or multi-day format

Programme schedule: How does the team cooking work?

We meet at the agreed meeting point in the professional kitchen. After a brief introduction by our trainers and the head chef, the teams split across the three courses — starter, main course, dessert. The one-hand rule applies from the very first cut.

How Do We Get to the Meeting Point?

You will travel in your own vehicles. For multi-day programmes with overnight stays, we can arrange transfers and accommodation as an agency service on request. The exact meeting point will be communicated with the booking confirmation.

Welcome with an aperitif, a brief round of introductions and an explanation of the day’s schedule. The trainers brief the team on the one-hand rule — what it means methodologically and why we work with it. Aprons and chef’s hats are handed out, hands are assigned — and then you get started.

Creative team cooking is a format in which experience, team connection and fun are the focus. The one-hand rule turns a normal cooking event into a vibrant learning environment for communication and role clarity. Supported by top chefs and ICO trainers, a menu is created with starter, main course and dessert — and a team that, after enjoying the meal together at the table, has grown closer than before.

Frequently Asked Questions

The meeting point is usually the partner kitchen in the Allgäu. We organise any necessary transfers with you (shuttle). For multi-day bookings, we also coordinate accommodation.

No — explicitly. The event is suitable for all levels, from absolute kitchen beginners to hobby cooks. Our top chefs provide step-by-step guidance. It is not about skill, but about doing it together.

Yes — of course. Meat, fish, vegetarian or vegan, regional Allgäu style or international: the themed menu is tailored to your group. Please let us know about allergies, halal or kosher requirements when booking — we will put the menu together so that everyone can take part and enjoy it together.

Ideally 10–50 people. With smaller groups, the effect of the one-hand rule is somewhat weaker (too little need for coordination); with larger groups, the kitchen becomes too cramped. Even larger events can be organised with two parallel kitchens — please contact us.
