The Airboard Downhill Safari in the Allgäu, set against the backdrop of the Allgäu Alps, offers you the opportunity to reconnect with yourself through an outdoor experience — a special shared experience that releases positive energy. The gondola takes you up to around 1,300 m altitude. Once at the top, you will receive a detailed introduction and complete practice runs to get to know the Airboard.
The Swiss high-tech sled is an inflatable snow bodyboard — lightweight yet extremely durable. It makes entirely new adventures possible: full control by shifting your weight. optimal cushioning thanks to the air cushion. Action or relaxed — riding seated or lying on your stomach. And a compact pack size: folded, it fits into any backpack and is quickly ready to go thanks to the hand pump.
Very safe: you lie the entire time on a soft air cushion, with no hard corners or edges. Helmet and gaiters are included. Trained guides will lead you through the experience and provide you with safety equipment, the inspection of which is our top priority. The tested and certified equipment is stored at the ICO Outdoor Center and issued to you directly on site.
In the Allgäu, the Airboard Downhill Safari is possible from various summits. Choose your own tour and your view — both locations offer panoramic views of the Allgäu Alps and unique powder-snow conditions away from the pistes.
Ofterschwanger Horn at 1,300 m altitude, located between Gunzesried and Ofterschwang and accessible by lift from both sides. The multi-award-winning family-friendly ski area with the famous World Cup run offers perfect conditions — varied, snow-sure, and with spectacular panoramic views.
Imberger Horn, also at 1,300 m altitude, easily accessible via the Hörnerbahn from Bad Hindelang. Right at the mountain station begins the dreamlike panoramic winter hiking trail with views over the Ostrach valley.
Ofterschwanger Horn is particularly suitable for mixed groups with beginners: family-friendly ski area, World Cup run as a teaching aid, varied descents. Imberger Horn is the quieter, more contemplative choice for teams also seeking panoramic views and the silence of the mountains.
We meet at the valley station you have chosen (Ofterschwang or Hindelang). After a brief introduction, the ICO trainer hands out the Airboards to participants. After the shared gondola ride to the summit, you will receive the safety briefing — and then the fun begins.
Warm, weatherproof winter clothing in layers — ideally waterproof outerwear (ski clothing, Gore-Tex, or similar), warm shoes or boots, sunglasses, a hat, and gloves. Bring a change of clothes in the car so you can change immediately after the action.
After the gondola ride to the summit, you will receive a detailed safety briefing: first, we practise steering the Airboards by shifting your weight. Initial attempts on a suitable slope will prepare you for the main descent. Then the speed rush begins: you glide down the slope on the Airboard — on the soft air cushion, without hard edges, always close to the snow.

No. Airboarding is a trend sport for everyone. Steering by shifting your weight is intuitive and can be learned in just a few minutes. The fitness requirement is also low — lift ride to the summit, a short walk, and then it is all downhill.

Our locations at 1,300 m altitude generally offer reliable snow conditions during the November–April season. If, contrary to expectations, there is too little snow, we will discuss alternatives or a postponement with you in good time.
