Team Building at Skywalk Oberstdorf
Team Building at Skywalk – Trust That Holds at Height
In the legendary ski jump stadium of the ORLEN Arena Oberstdorf, we train your team in what rarely happens in the office: physically experienced trust, role clarity under real pressure, and a shared moment of success that lasts. A learning journey from the ground to the sky – and back to everyday work, with the ICO carabiner as a lasting memory anchor.
A Day That Transforms the Team
Team Building at Skywalk is more than a day trip – it is a complete learning journey from the ground to the sky. What your team experiences here shapes collaboration for the coming quarters.
The Process:
Three progressive phases: Ground (strategy & communication without height risk), High Ropes (trust under real-time pressure), and One-Team Ritual (emotional anchoring with carabiner handover). Accompanied by experienced ICO trainers who guide each phase methodically and safely.
What Your Team Takes Away:
Visible team structures, clear roles, strengthened appreciation, and physically experienced trust that does not fade in the office. Plus the ICO carabiner as a personal memory anchor for each participant.
Concept Flexibility:
From three team modules, we select the right program with you – half-day or full-day, with or without One-Team final project (giant puzzle, large ball transport, or custom slogan construction). Upon request, we add ski jump tubing as an icebreaker, catering at Erdinger Sportalp, or a champagne reception in the glass ski jump tower.
For Every Occasion:
Team Building at Skywalk works as a team retreat, onboarding day for new teams, reorganization workshop, or annual team spirit event. Ideal for newly formed project teams, reorganization phases, or established teams looking to reconnect.

In Three Steps to a Permanently Connected Team
Team Building at Skywalk follows a proven learning pyramid – from the ground via team high ropes to the shared success ritual. Three phases in which a group becomes a connected team.
Ground: Strategy and Trust
In the Ground Course (Mohawk Walk, Trust Bridge, Diamond Pond), roles, communication, and decision-making ability become visible under real-time pressure – without requiring the comfort zone of height. The ideal opening to make team structures transparent.
High Ropes: Trust at Height
On the Team High Course at 4–12 meters, success depends on literally and figuratively “holding onto each other.” Those who dare the ascent to the Sky Course at 30 meters entrust their safety to the team – and receive it back.
Ritual: One-Team Moment as Anchor
The day culminates in a One-Team Project – from a giant puzzle made of earned team wins to large ball transport to a shared slogan. The emotional conclusion is the personal carabiner handover by ICO trainers – a symbol of cooperation, trust, and success.
The 3 Team Building Modules in Detail
Team Building at Skywalk combines three complementary ICO modules. Click through the details – each module can also be booked individually.
Team Development on the Ground
Team development begins on the ground. In exercises such as “Diamond Pond” (Win as much as you can), Swamp Bridge, or Trust Bridge, roles, communication, and decision-making ability become visible under real-time pressure – without requiring the comfort zone of height.
The ideal opening. Here it becomes clear how your team acts under pressure: Who takes responsibility, who follows, who communicates clearly, who withdraws. These observations are methodically reflected upon and used for the subsequent high ropes phases.
Impact on everyday work. What becomes visible in the ground course has immediate transfer to everyday work – meeting dynamics, project roles, conflict patterns. This is where the diagnostic power of Skywalk Team Building lies.
Trust Develops at Height
Where belaying becomes a key competency. On the Team High Course at 4–12 meters (Mohawk Walk, Trapeze Bridge, Team Seesaw), success depends on literally and figuratively “holding onto each other.” Trust is physically experienced, not just discussed.
The Sky Course at 30 meters. Those who want to go all the way fly over the stadium with Big Flying Fox and Giant Swing. Secured only by the carabiner and their own team. This creates the emotional highlight – memories that last a lifetime.
Personal boundary experience. Everyone decides for themselves how far they go. Height is voluntary – the impact occurs even at 4 meters. What matters is the step out of one’s own comfort zone, with the team as a safety net.
From Experience to Shared Moment of Success
From experience to shared moment of success. The day culminates in a One-Team Project in the Ski Legends Room or athlete area – from a giant puzzle made of earned team wins to large ball transport to shared slogan construction.
The carabiner handover. The emotional conclusion is the personal carabiner handover by ICO trainers – a symbol of cooperation, trust, and success. Each participant carries this anchor as a lasting reminder of the day the team grew beyond itself.
Reflection with atmosphere. The historic ski jump exhibits in the Ski Legends Room or the exclusive setting of the HS 137 glass tower turn reflection into an experience. Here, insights are anchored that other formats cannot reach.
Add-ons for Your Individual Team Building
Every team building can be expanded with tailored add-ons – from ski jump tubing as an icebreaker to the ground-air elements Giant Ladder and Energy Tree to an exclusive champagne reception in the glass tower. Choose from proven extensions – we coordinate everything for you.
Add-On 1
Ski Jump Tubing as Icebreaker
Before the methodical core: Ski jump tubing as an adrenaline icebreaker in the morning. With inflatable special sleds, participants race down K19, K30, or K56 into the valley – no small-talk ice that doesn’t break here at the latest. Laughter connects, courage becomes contagious.
Highlights:
- K19, K30, K56 TO CHOOSE FROM
- SUMMER ON MATS, WINTER ON SNOW
- OPTIONAL GOAL WALL CHALLENGE
- IDEAL MORNING OPENER
- ALSO FOR RESERVED TEAMS
Add-On 2
Giant Ladder (Team Ascent)
The Giant Ladder is the perfect additional module for team coordination: Step by step together to the top – each rung requires coordination, timing, and mutual trust. Those who reach the top only succeeded because the team held on below.
Highlights:
- JOINT ASCENT AS A TEAM
- COORDINATION & TIMING CRUCIAL
- PERSONAL BOUNDARY CROSSING
- TEAM AS SAFETY NET
- IDEAL AS SUPPLEMENT TO HIGH COURSE
Add-On 3
Catering Erdinger Sportalp
Directly in the stadium, the Erdinger Sportalp awaits you – a cozy alpine hut with a special view of the ski jump. Regional delicacies, international dishes, and freshly tapped beer turn your breaks into an experience within an experience. Available upon request as coffee break, lunch, or champagne reception (the latter also in the HS 137 glass tower at 40 meters height!).
Highlights:
- REGIONAL DELICACIES & SNACKS
- INTERNATIONAL DISHES
- OPTIONAL CHAMPAGNE RECEPTION IN GLASS TOWER
- DIRECTLY IN THE SKI JUMP STADIUM
Add-On 4
Carabiner Handover
At the end, each participant receives a personally presented ICO carabiner – a symbol of cooperation, trust, and success and symbolically the anchor on which everyone hung their life on the high ropes. A small piece of metal that keeps the team experience present far beyond the event day and becomes a daily memory anchor.
Highlights:
- PERSONAL PRESENTATION BY ICO TRAINERS
- SYMBOL OF COOPERATION & TRUST
- MEMORY ANCHOR FOR EACH PARTICIPANT

Who Is Behind the Methods?
Peter Tümmers von Schoenebeck personally built the ICO Skywalk – as a high ropes course between the Oberstdorf ski jumps. As a former DSV Olympic mental trainer (Sven Hannawald, Martin Schmitt) and founder of ICO, he developed the methodical concept of the learning pyramid: from the ground via team high ropes to the One-Team Ritual.
Today, over 50 qualified ICO trainers (high ropes course trainers, mountain guides, canyoning guides, raft guides) accompany your team building methodically safely and with the highest quality.
Frequently Asked Questions
Classic team events focus on fun and activity. With us, it is about methodically guided team development with experienced trust on the high ropes and structured reflection in the Ski Legends Room. The difference shows itself months later in team dynamics.
Three progressive height levels: Ground Course (strategy & trust at the beginning), Team High Course (4-12m, mutual belaying), and Sky Course (30m, personal boundary experience). Each level trains a different team competency.
No – each participant decides for themselves how far they go. The mental impact occurs even without the highest height. What matters is the step out of one's own comfort zone, not the absolute height.
Optimal 6–15 people per trainer. For larger teams (20+), we work with multiple trainer teams in parallel to ensure methodical quality and enable intensive experiences.
A final project (giant puzzle from earned team wins, large ball transport, or shared slogan construction) + personal carabiner handover by ICO trainers. The ritual anchors the experience as a lasting team memory.
Typically 6.5 hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM), a full day. Half-day variants (3-4 hours) focus on Ground + Team High Course with a compact conclusion. Multi-day programs integrate reflection days in the conference.
The Climbing Park as the core module starts from €129 per person plus VAT. With conference + add-ons, we create an individual offer for you – contact Andre Barth.
Yes – the high ropes course is accessible even in light rain. In severe weather events (thunderstorms, storms), we combine the stations with extended conference phases in the Ski Legends Room. Bad weather often makes the team experience even more intense.
